How do Unbranded Pellets Compare to Premium Pellets?

Unbranded and premium pellets differ mainly in certification and consistency: unbranded pellets are more affordable and deliver reliable performance, with only minor variations in ash content, size, or colour, while premium ENplus A1 pellets are certified to the highest standard, with ultra‑low ash (typically <0.7%) and maximum consistency. Unbranded pellets suit everyday use at a lower cost, whereas ENplus A1 pellets are better for sensitive or high‑demand appliances where tight specifications matter.

Are Wood Pellets Cost Effective?

Wood pellets often work out cheaper than logs or gas, especially when used in efficient pellet boilers. The consistent burn and high calorific value (4.6–5.0 kWh/kg) mean you get more usable heat per kilogram compared to many traditional fuels.

For best results, use indoor storage or a covered outdoor space, and make sure the bags stay sealed and protected from humidity. Stored correctly and kept completely dry, wood pellets can last 12–18 months without losing quality.

How does delivery work at White Horse Energy?

We provide fast, reliable UK-wide delivery on all firewood, briquettes, and wood pellets. Free delivery on all non-surcharged orders. Flexible delivery: you can choose a delivery date at checkout. Next-day shipping is available for a small fee. Your wood fuel will arrive on a pallet via tail-lift lorry and pallet truck, usually within 2–5 working days. You don’t need to be home for delivery, but please ensure your delivery location is flat, hard-standing, and accessible.
