Frequently Asked Questions
What are Platinum Plus wood pellets?
Platinum Plus Pellets are White Horse Energy’s premium biomass fuel, designed for high-performance heating. They are made from 100% natural, renewable sawdust and wood shavings, compressed without any chemicals or binders. Triple dust-extracted, they offer high calorific value (around 4.6-5.0 kWh/kg), minimal ash (under 0.7%), and moisture below 10% for clean, consistent burns. With a uniform 6mm diameter, they are ideal for modern pellet stoves, boilers and biomass heating systems.
Are Platinum Plus pellets ENplus A1 certified?
Yes. Platinum Plus pellets are ENplus A1 certified, the highest European quality standard for wood pellets, and BSL-authorised for UK sustainability requirements. ENplus A1 means:
- Low ash content (typically below 0.7%)
- Low moisture (below 10%)
- High calorific value for efficient heat output
- Consistent size and density for reliable feeding
- Sustainable sourcing with a transparent supply chain
For more information on ENplus certification, read our article ENplus A1 vs A2 vs B.
Why choose Platinum Plus over standard wood pellets?
Platinum Plus pellets are lighter in colour, with ultra-low dust and our lowest ash, so your appliance stays cleaner and needs less maintenance. Their high calorific value means more heat and longer burns from every bag – outperforming unbranded pellets on both efficiency and sustainability.
Order from White Horse Energy and you also get competitive pricing, fast, reliable UK delivery and award-winning friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
What appliances can I use Platinum Plus pellets in?
Platinum Plus 6mm pellets suit modern pellet stoves, biomass boilers, central heating systems, commercial biomass boilers, pellet pizza ovens and open fires with a pellet basket. Triple dust extraction gives smooth feeding, reliable ignition and less maintenance. Always check your appliance manual to confirm it takes 6mm pellets.
How should I store Platinum Plus pellets?
Keep Platinum Plus pellets dry. Wood pellets absorb moisture easily, and damp pellets swell, crumble and lose heat output. Stored correctly, they will keep their quality for 12–18 months.
- Store indoors, or under a waterproof cover in a dry, well-ventilated space such as a garage or outbuilding
- Keep bags off the ground on pallets or shelving, away from external walls • Avoid damp or humid environments
Can I Buy Platinum Plus Pellets in Bulk?
White Horse Energy offers bulk pallet deliveries, ideal for regular pellet stove or biomass boiler users. Bulk buying is often the most economical and convenient option for steady heating throughout the season.
We offer free standard delivery across most of the UK within 2 – 5 days, or you can choose from Premium (next working day) delivery or scheduled delivery slots.
Pellets are delivered on a pallet via a tail-lift lorry and pallet truck. You don’t need to be home for delivery, but the delivery area must be flat, hard standing (no grass, gravel or kerbs) and accessible.
