Why choose Kiln Dried Oak Firewood?
Kiln dried oak gives the longest burn of any firewood we sell, with deep, consistent heat and a classic low, rolling flame. It's the one to choose for long evenings, all-day heating or overnight burns in larger stoves and open fires.
Our Oak logs are kiln dried to below 20% moisture and Ready to Burn certified. Each log is around 25cm long and 6–16cm in diameter, so they suit most wood burners, stoves, fireplaces, firepits and chimineas.
Oak is ideal if you:
- Want long-lasting fires with fewer refuels
- Use a wood burner or larger stove
- Prefer overnight or all-day burns
- Want maximum heat from fewer logs
Oak takes slightly longer to ignite than birch or ash, but once established it produces a deep, consistent heat with a classic, low-rolling flame.
How do I light Kiln Dried Oak?
Because Oak is so dense, it takes a little longer to catch than Birch or Ash. Start with a base of Ecoblaze Kiln Dried Kindling and a natural firelighter, let the fire establish, then add your logs. Once going, Oak rewards you with steady, long-lasting heat.

How does Oak compare to Birch, Ash and Premium Hardwood??
Oak burns longest; the other hardwoods trade some burn time for easier lighting.

Yes. Our Kiln Dried Oak Firewood is Ready to Burn certified, meaning it's independently tested to a moisture content below 20% and complies with UK regulations for domestic wood fuel. In a smoke control area, you can burn it in a DEFRA-exempt appliance.
Low moisture logs light more easily, burn hotter and produce far less smoke, tar and soot than wet or unseasoned wood, which is better for your stove, your chimney and local air quality. Always follow your appliance manufacturer's instructions and local guidance.
