At White Horse Energy we are always looking for new opportunities to shape and be a force for change within the UK biomass energy sector and pride ourselves on challenging industry norms, exploring new ways to better serve our customers and the world around us. In an ever-changing world, we are at the forefront of changes in consumer lifestyle and energy use here in the UK and beyond.
We seek to not only be leaders in the UK biomass sector, but gamechangers. Challenging biomass supply-chains and technical norms, has led White Horse Energy to put in a successful bid to explore the feasibility of a new energy technology, as part of the Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme. Our proposal has been selected for its potential to address the current barriers facing biomass supply in the UK.
This project represents an exciting opportunity for White Horse Energy to drive a more sustainable future for domestic energy supply, working with our project partners to bring this project to life and contribute towards the UK’s path to ‘Net Zero’, a challenge set to reduce net CO2 emissions to zero by 2050.
Our project aims to bring Metritron Gmbh’s mobile pelletiser technology to energy crops in the UK and develop a technical innovation that connects the farm to the UK electricity grid. This would place UK farms as a source of energy for homes around the country. We are excited that the innovation has the potential to bring about a real shift in the UK domestic energy mix – as biomass pellets are a low carbon, energy-dense renewable source. We are looking forward to seeing the change this technology will bring!
